Book Your Session
Fill out the booking form and I’ll get back to you to confirm your spot. Together we’ll pick a day and time that work best for your family, and I’ll share a few easy tips on what to wear and how to get ready.

Consultation & Planning
We’ll chat about your family, location options, and the vibe you’d like for your photos. I can suggest favourite spots around Halifax or plan a session at your home, so on the day you know exactly where we’re meeting and what to expect.

Photoshoot Day
On the day of the session I’ll gently guide you into simple poses and give small prompts, then step back to catch the real moments in between. Your job is just to be together and enjoy the time; mine is to handle the light, composition, and keeping everything calm and easy.

Editing & Selection
After the session I go through all the images and keep the strongest ones. You’ll receive an online gallery where you can pick your favourites for final editing—colour work and light retouching—and then, if you’d like, you can order prints or a photo book.
What is the difference between Family Lifestyle and Family Portrait?
Lifestyle sessions ($210) focus on natural light mixed with light off-camera flash if needed, unscripted movement, and candid storytelling (running on the beach or walking park trails). Portrait sessions ($260) include professional off-camera flash (OCF) lighting for crisp, magazine-quality skin tones and intentional, guided family posing in studio, at home, or outdoors.
How does photo selection work, and what do we keep?
You never have to worry about missing moments. Within 48-72 hours of the shoot, we upload a private online gallery with all successful color-corrected images (50+ frames) for you to keep and download. From this gallery, you simply select your favorite up to 20 images, and we deliver them with signature hand-retouching.
When is the best time for a session?
For outdoor Lifestyle sessions, we recommend early mornings or the golden hour before sunset for soft, flattering light. For Portrait sessions with off-camera flash, we can shoot at any time of day regardless of sun position. We are happy to recommend top scenic spots across Halifax and Dartmouth or come directly to your home.
What should I wear?

✅ Neutral tones — beige, gray, white, pastels, khaki, olive.
✅ Solid colors and clean textures — they photograph beautifully.
✅ Well-fitted clothes that let you move naturally.
✅ Minimal accessories for classic or business portraits.
❌ What to avoid:
🚫 Large logos or busy patterns that distract in photos.
🚫 Shiny or reflective fabrics — they create glare, especially with flash.
🚫 Anything uncomfortable — if you don’t feel good in it, it shows.
How many people can join the session?
Our Lifestyle package include up to 6 immediate family members ($25 per additional person). But our Portrait package include up to 12 family members($25 per additional person). For large gatherings, milestone birthdays, and multi-family reunions, please book our Family Events package. And yes – dogs and pets are always more than welcome!
What if our children are shy, energetic, or don't want to pose?
That is completely normal! We never force children to hold frozen, artificial smiles. We keep the atmosphere light and playful with fun prompts, movement, and gentle conversation. Kids stay relaxed, have fun exploring, and you get authentic, joyous expressions.
How long does photo editing take?
Standard turnaround is 5–7 business days.
Rush delivery is available as an add-on.
Can we print the photos ourselves?
Absolutely – all delivered files are yours to print. We also provide a list of recommended HRM print labs for the best results.
